To deploy an inter-cluster cooperation aiming to define an action plan that fosters internationalization opportunities for SMEs in Canada and USA and the establishment of cross-European global value chains of SMEs offering photonics-enabled advanced manufacturing solutions.

PIMAP Partnership – Photonics for International Markets Applications has been set up to support 4 clusters, their SMEs and regional ecosystem actors, to explore synergies, specialization and complementarities, setting a basis towards the deployment of new value chain of photonics enabled advanced production technologies and definition of a joint internationalization strategy.

This Partnership, settled within the COSME (European Union Programme for Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) call for European Strategic Cluster Partnership “Clusters Go International”, gathers 4 clusters, notably ALPHA-RLH (France) and Joensuu Science Park (Finland), both directly related to Photonics, Triple Steelix (Sweden) in the steel value chain and related industrial applications and PRODUTECH (Portugal) devoted to the Production Technologies industry.

This cross sectoral activity will help to drive new value chains across Europe, the generation of innovative photonics-enabled production technologies and support the industrial modernisation process in Europe, providing a springboard for cluster SMEs to internationalise and support (inter-)regional actions.

Two third country targets have been identified (USA and Canada) and will provide the test bed for the strategy and proposed roadmap.
