Registrations are open for the 2nd hackathon of the GALACTICA project with €50k in prizes. This event is aimed at start-ups and SMEs as well as university students.
The GALACTICA project aims to foster the creation of new industrial value chains around the textile and aerospace sectors based on advanced manufacturing technologies. SMEs and start-ups from these sectors, as well as university students, can form teams and sign up.
A Hackathon is an intensive collaborative event that encourages multidisciplinary teams to create new value by providing innovative solutions to pre-defined challenges.
The GALACTICA project seeks innovative solutions to combine the textile and aerospace sectors by integrating production technologies to form new value chains and business models, fostering cross-sector and cross-border partnerships.
You can register for the Hackathon through the GALACTICA call platform until 24 September 2021.
The Hackathon will take place in two phases:
- A first online, with a virtual challenge that will take place during October
- And the second round, for the selected finalists, which will take place in person on 30 November and 1 December in the Barcelona region (provided that there are sanitary conditions for it)
The GALACTICA Hackathon will award €50,000 in prizes:
- 25,000€ for the winning SME/Start-up team;
- 10,000 euros for the second classified SME/Start-up team;
- 10,000 for the winning student team;
- 5,000€ for the second placed student team.
