Trade with the United Kingdom from January 2021
The United Kingdom officially left the EU (European Union) on 31 January 2020, the year 2020 being a transition year in which the previous rules of the Single European Market and the Customs Union prevailed, allowing all stakeholders to adapt and define contingency plans for the continuity of interactions with the United Kingdom.
To help businesses avoid disruption and minimise disruption to trade with the UK, the UK Government has launched the "Keep Business Moving" campaign and created a web page, with updating information, for the EU companies on the measures to be taken.
The Portuguese entities present in the Government Diplomatic Portal the Preparation and Contingency Plan for the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union, as well as other relevant information for Portuguese companies.
